Police name crash death cyclist

A motorcyclist who died after losing control on a bend and hitting a telegraph pole, has been named.

James Wilkinson, 23, from Buddle Street in Consett, County Durham, came off his bike when he failed to negotiate a right hand bend, police said.

The crash happened on the A68, near the Sunniside junction in Tow Law, County Durham, on Friday evening.

Officers said James Wilkinson suffered internal injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
