Cemetery is recognised in awards

Redstone Cemetery
Judges liked the grounds and Mediterranean-style white chapel

A cemetery with views over Surrey and Sussex has been recognised in national awards for the third year in a row.

Judges were impressed by the grounds and Mediterranean-style white chapel at Redhill's Redstone Cemetery, Reigate and Banstead Borough Council said.

The cemetery features the Baby Memorial Garden developed with Surrey SANDS, or Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society, and Surrey and Sussex Healthcare Trust.

The award was from the Institute for Cemetery and Crematorium Management.

Councillor Julian Ellacott said the runner-up award was "a true testament to our dedicated cemeteries staff who work incredibly well".
