Ex-wife faces murder plot charge

A woman has appeared in court accused of plotting to kill her husband and sinking his luxury boat.

Mandy Fleming, 44, of High Street, Sheerness, Kent, was charged with conspiracy to murder at the Old Bailey.

She is also accused of causing £90,000 worth of damage to Adam Fleming's cruiser in Brighton Marina, Sussex, with intent to endanger life in 2004.

Three men, including her new partner, were charged with conspiracy to murder. Another man faces a firearms offence.

Mrs Fleming, who is now divorced from Mr Fleming, is accused of trying to murder her husband between October 2004 and July 2006.

Gun sale

David Brown, 47, of High Street, Sheerness, Kent, Bradley Hanson, 24, of The Haven, Littlehampton, West Sussex, and Rakesh Patel, 35, of The Glades in Shirley, Croydon, also face the conspiracy to murder charge.

David Camp, 64, of Brewers Lane, Bridgemary, Gosport, was charged with selling a Browning 9mm gun to another man alleged to have been involved in the plot.

All five defendants were remanded on conditional bail.

They are due to appear at the Old Bailey again on 17 October.
