Nation's favourite project award

The national Armed Forces Memorial at Alrewas
The National Memorial Arboretum is among those up for the award

Two charity projects based in Staffordshire and Worcestershire have been shortlisted for a major National Lottery award.

The National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas and Redditch's Nightstop, which provides shelter for young homeless people, are both in the running.

A total of 21 projects across the UK have been shortlisted for the National Lottery Good Causes award.

The winner will receive an extra £2,000 to put towards their project.

The results will be announced live in a special BBC One National Lottery television show on Saturday evening.
