Teenager injured in walking trial

A teenager taking part in a walk for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme has been injured while walking in Staffordshire.

Paramedics were called to Mill Dale, near Alstonefield, at about 1445 BST on Saturday after reports the 16-year-old had slipped down the hillside.

Ambulance chiefs said the boy, from Peterborough, had been with a group of other youngsters and teachers.

He was taken to hospital suffering from injuries to his foot.
