Bail for man arrested over rape

A 22-year-old man arrested in connection with the rape of a teenager in a Darlington street has been released on bail.

The 18-year-old victim was attacked near the Old Cactus Jack club in Commercial Street in the early hours of 12 July.

It is believed she had previously been followed through part of the town.

Police arrested a man two days later and he has since been bailed pending further inquires.
