Driver arrested after fatal crash

A minibus driver from Wiltshire has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and of driving while disqualified.

The 56-year-old had been driving on the A420 when the bus was in collision with a car killing the driver, Daniel England, 18.

A 14-year-old girl who was a passenger in the car, was taken to hospital in Bath with head injuries.

The accident happened at about 0745 BST at Marshfield near Bath.

The minibus was a public bus operated by Faresaver of Chippenham.

Road closed

A spokesman for the company, said the driver and one other employee were the only people on board the minibus at the time of the incident.

The service normally operates between Chippenham and Bath or Chippenham and Bristol.

The A420 remains closed by the Shoe and Upper Wraxall turn following the accident.

The driver has also been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

Police have asked for anyone with any information about the incident to contact them.
