Police want to trace the final movements of a Darlington woman who died when she was hit by a train.

Sarah Lumley was struck by a First Transpennine service travelling from Manchester Airport to Newcastle on Salters Lane early on 1 May.

British Transport Police (BTP) said the circumstances surrounding the 19-year-old's death were still unclear.

Ms Lumley had been in the town's White Horse Pub on Harrogate Hill in the hours leading up to her death.

BTP Det Insp Jon Shillito said: "We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have been in or around the Salters Lane North area of Darlington between the hours of 2330 BST and 0030 BST."
