Police woman in court over crash
A police woman has appeared in court charged with careless driving following the death of a pensioner in Eastbourne.

Victoria Richards, 28, was behind the wheel of a police car, responding to a 999 call, last September when she hit David Lloyd, 83, and his elderly wife.

Mr Lloyd, from Tredegar, south Wales, died from the injuries he received in the accident in Grand Parade. His wife suffered minor injuries.

The case at Lewes Magistrates' Court was adjourned until 7 September.

Pc Richards has not yet entered a plea to the charge.
