A weird kangaroo that lives in trees is caught on camera by a BBC expedition team.

The creature is among a host of enigmatic animals discovered by the team, which explored the crater of a pristine giant extinct volcano located in the highlands of Papua New Guinea.

The kangaroo surprised members of the team filming the series, Lost Land of the Volcanoes, by bolting past them along a river bed.

Later, the team managed to film another tree kangaroo up a tree.
