How a hippo chased a man up a tree

Filming for the new BBC series Deadly 60, presenter Steve Backshall talks to Robert, a victim of a hippo attack.

Just after 1900 one evening, Robert was working in a fruit plantation in South Africa when a hippo surprised him.

The hippo chased Robert up a tree, managing to bite hold of his leg, severely injuring him.

Deadly 60 will be broadcast on the CBBC channel each Thursday at 1715 BST, starting on 28 May
