Rafa..The Marmite Man.....

Liverpool

....you either love him or hate him. Their seems to be no middle ground with Rafa.

For me, i think at the minute there isn't a better man for the job. I'd give him to the end of the season, then review his position. But to sack him now, would just be sheer lunacy.

And wouldn't the pro- Ferguson media love that? There witch hunt would be complete..another victim burned on the pyre.

These so called "experts" (usually bitter ex-footballers, who couldn't remain in the game because they where about as popular as SAF at the annual LFC awards) Would have there two pence worth, because that all it would be worth. Then move on to the next target.

But what would be left behind if the increasingly useless yanks did sack Rafa? A club in turmoil, would sink further into the deep brown smelly stuff.

People point to the FACTS...

67 player he's bought..But how many for the 1st team squad?

He's spent 200 plus million... But what is his net spend?

His buys are rubbish..But name one manager who's got it right every time?

He lost the plot with his "rant"..yet not once during that speech did he raise his voice, babble on..He delivered a clear statement, which was in the main true.

I remember the late '80's and a certain Scottish gentleman getting stick from the media and fans, banners hung from the home end at the ground calling for his head...But he toughed it out, he turned it around...He became a success.

Rafa is the marmite man, and me i like marmite.

Rafa's not the marmite man, that's Ferguson. He's weird-looking and he smells.

20 managers:

Hiddink
Klinsmann
Scolari
Southgate
Keegan
Dalglish
Ramos
Sammy Lee
Shearer
Strachan

Well, 10 isn't bad off the top of my head.

And you consider all these as better than Benitez? Or is this literally just a list of 10 managers?

In Liverpool I believe-
what I was resonding to was the fact that the writer said he could not name anyone to replace Rafa and I said I could think of at least 20 names-

No, that's not what you asked. The other guy didn't say he could think of 20 managers better than Benitez, just available ones. You can't know how well a manager will do at a club until he comes.

Hiddink for next season hopefully coupled with a change of ownership. Rafa's a spent force at Liverpool. Bad man management, worse buys and now he's lost the plot tactically which was his only strong point. But we could make a start by getting rid of the dead wood - Leiva, Ngog, Voronin to name just three in the January window.

as requested here are the 20 names that could replace Rafa without any negative effects on the team-
1) ex president of the U.S.A George W Bush.( is out of work at the moment and therefore available)
2) Jordan ( the model, not the ex basketball player, as he knows FA about soccer)
3)Britney spears- is considering moving to England to get away from raving supporters- on second thoughts you better take her off the list.
4)Micheal M Mouse known to his friends as Mickey- might be avilable as is considering retiring from the cartoon business.
5) George Graham- although not due to be released until the new year- can work most days when wearing a tag.
6)Frank Carson- normally works at Blackpool but could be persuaded to move to Liverpool as their supporters have such good sense of humour as they are proving by keeping their present manager.

I will come back to you later with the other names.
Its not that there isnt a lot its just that I need to see if other people like Boy George and Gary Glitter would be willing to drop their standards by taking that job.

stop_the-lights..

Suggest you come back when your funny..so see you sometime 2024.

Why support so many clubs as well? Typical fair weather fan i bet.

Makes me laugh that once again the first response is from in-breed manc plank, showing there usual ignorance and arrogance.

stop_the_lights is the architile manc supporter..arrogant,ignorant and gormless. Good work mate, keep up it up.

Rafa replacement list part 2.

7) Anne Robinson- would be perfect with the boys in he dressing room stood there all in black pointing at Stevie gerrard- 'you are the weakest link- good bye'
8) Robert Mugabe- this guy could be available immediately there is much talk that he needs to get out of Zimbabwe pretty soon.
9) Dame Edna Everage
you could have the best of both worlds with this one-something for every one
10) Rolf Harris- the mans a Legand
11)Little and Large- might cost a bit more cos theres two of them- but remember cloghie and Taylor- worth evvery Penny
12) Nelson mandella- Not sure if he would be interested as he is a big Man U fan but certainly worth a go
13)gerard houllier- oh no you wouldnt want him cos he couldnt give you the Premiership title
14) Sylvester Stallone- might need to change the clubs song to the Rocky music before he would come.

15) Noddy

Still working on it more later.

Rafa replacement list

16) the rev Ian Paisley- has retired from politics now and although he is getting on a bit in years- that big booming voice of his would awaken the dead, which might be exactly what is needed for Liverpool FC at he moment.
17) David Moynes- again really need to check this out as he would have to be paid big money to get him away from the biggst team in scouseland.
18) John Barnes- many plus points including he already speaks the lingo- and it would not be a huge step down for him from his last position
19)Mike Basset- many advantages including he's already managed the club ( or was that someone else ?)
20) Cilla Black-

so you see there are plenty of other people around that could replace rafa- please bear in mind that I am not even a fan of Liverpool and I am acting totally out of love.
