Business and enterprise questions

Plans for a proposed new science park in Bangor are moving quickly according to the Business, Enterprise, Technology and Science Minister Edwina Hart on 9 January 2013.

Responding to a question from Liberal Democrat Aled Roberts AM, Ms Hart said that the government had already looked at several potential sites, and a business plan would follow in due course.

But the Conservative Mark Isherwood AM said that although he supported investment in north Wales, he was concerned that the government had not received an outline business plan.

He added that the Welsh Government wouldn't normally confirm any investment until a business case had been submitted.

The Minister said she would continue to update members on any developments.

She said the government had made a political decision to pass the budget "and that is the end of the matter on this discussion."

Other matters raised included the tourism industry, city regions and enterprise zones.
