Business statement

Rhodri Glyn Thomas AM called for further response from the government on the census results on the Welsh language following the business statement on 8 January 2012.

Leader of the House Jane Hutt AM was taking requests for debates and statements.

"When are you going to make a statement and start a discussion about the results of the census?" asked Mr Thomas.

The Carmarthen East and Dinefwr AM for Plaid Cymru said that his party would debate the matter on 9 January 2012 but was keen for more response from the government other than the language minister's amendments to their motion.

He was "glad" First Minister Carwyn Jones had already met with the language commissioner to discuss the matter.

Ms Hutt said it was "important" that Plaid Cymru had put the matter "on the agenda" and the government would respond to the debate.

She also responded to requests for statements and debates, including statements on local development plans and flooding in the Vale of Glamorgan.
