Business statement

The leader of the Conservatives criticised the first minister on 13 November 2012 for his inability to issue a statement following his meeting with the children's commissioner.

Carwyn Jones AM had promised in a previous plenary session that he would be updating AMs following the meeting discussing the child abuse claims in north Wales.

According to Andrew RT Davies AM, the first minister's failure to act on his promise and keep the members informed was "regrettable".

Leader of the House Jane Hutt stressed that the children's commissioner and the first minister both "need to respond appropriately and responsibly" on the matter and that it was important for members to understand that.

Ms Hutt also answered requests for debates and statements on fly tipping, pre-confirmation hearings for major public appointments and the work of the Sports Council.
