Short debate: Cuts Watch Cymru

Mark Drakeford, Labour AM for Cardiff West, highlighted the cumulative effect of welfare benefit cuts, on both the level of individual and family as well as particular areas.

He made the comments whilst leading a short debate on the work of Cuts Watch Cymru, an independent network of organisations from the third and voluntary sector in Wales, on 29 February 2012.

Mr Drakeford stressed the need to generate radical community-wide approaches to minimise the impact of changes and drew attention to special projects in Bristol and Dumfries.

The Minister for Education and Skills Leighton Andrews said the next task was to continue external engagement with the widest possible range of stakeholders in Wales.
