The Deputy Minister for Social Services Gwenda Thomas AM made a statement on autism on 8 June 2010.
The deputy minister announced that the assembly government was funding 22 new autism projects for children and adults across Wales that would run along side the NHS and the voluntary sector.
Mrs Thomas said: "There is still much more to do but at least now we have the infrastructure, practice and momentum to build upon".
Over 25,000 people in Wales suffer from autism.
