Debate on promoting Welsh culture on the world stage

AMs met to discuss the communities and culture committee's report on the promotion of Welsh arts and culture on 11 November 2009.

During its inquiry, the committee took evidence from a wide range of witnesses, including the heritage minister, representatives of government-sponsored bodies, academic experts and practitioners of arts and culture.

The committee's report recommends that the assembly government develops a clear strategic plan for promoting Wales on the international stage.

It also says the government, Arts Council of Wales and Wales Arts International should collaborate to make the most of available funding to support Welsh arts and culture abroad.
