Education Secretary quizzed on colleges

MSPs questioned education, lifelong learning and children ministers on a range of issues during portfolio question time on 16 January 2013.

Education Secretary Michael Russell answered questions on college waiting lists, widening access for post-16 higher education for those from deprived backgrounds and the availability of college courses for students with additional needs.

Alasdair Allan, Learning and Skills Minister, answered questions on the exposure to lead in early childhood, advice given to local authorities regarding charging for music tuition and training for teachers of pupils with additional support needs.

Aileen Campbell, Children and Young People Minister, answered a question on support for young carers.
