MSPs quiz government ministers during general questions

MSPs questioned Health Secretary Alex Neil, Public Health Minister Michael Matheson, Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill and Finance Secretary John Swinney during general question time on 17 January 2013.

Issues that arose included what reason reported death rates at the Royal Alexandra Hospital were higher at the weekend than on weekdays, how many people had been prosecuted in the last year for smoking in enclosed premises or permitting smoking to take place in enclosed premises and what progress had been made on expediting the proposed new subsea power cables to the Western Isles and Orkney.
