Transport Minister Keith Brown told the
Infrastructure and Capital Investment Committee
Scotland was "better equipped than ever before" to deal with severe winter weather.
The minister was giving evidence on a wide range of transport issues on the 12 December 2012.
Mr Brown said there were more stocks of salt for gritting roads than was used in the entire period of the winter in 2011.
He also discussed issues ranging from Edinburgh's trams, the new Forth Road Bridge and rail franchises.
The first five minutes of this committee are unavailable to view due to a technical problem.
