Decision time

MSPs passed the amended motion from the role of scientific evidence and advice in public policy debate unanimously, during decision time on 11 December 2012.

A Labour amendment was defeated, however an amendment from the Conservatives was passed.

Prior to decision time Labour MSP Lewis MacDonald raised a point of order criticising the government for taking too long to answer a question he had asked, but Presiding Officer Tricia Marwick said she had been disappointed to learn of the point of order as it circulated amongst the press.
