MSPs passed the amended motion from the debate on the modernisation of Scotland's career services during decision time on 6 December 2012.
The amendment from the Conservatives was passed, while the amendment from Labour fell.
Prior to decision time Liberal Democrat MSP Liam McArthur raised a point of order concerning the forthcoming strikes by members of the RMT union working on the Orkney and Shetland ferry routes, calling for a response from the Scottish government at the earliest opportunity.
SNP MSP Christine Grahame also raised a point of order which concerned the use of her constituent's case by Scottish Labour leader Johann Lamont during first minister's questions, without the Labour leader having asked for prior consent from Ms Grahame.
Presiding Officer Tricia Marwick concluded decision time with a warm tribute to the former Labour MSP John Park who is leaving to work as policy and strategy director of the Community trade union.
