St Andrew's Day debate 1

Culture secretary Fiona Hyslop led a debate entitled 'St Andrew's Day, A Celebration of Scotland' on 27 November 2012.

Ms Hyslop welcomed the celebration of St Andrew's Day and the opportunity that it gives Scots to celebrate Scotland's people and history, world famous food and drink and traditional and contemporary culture.

The culture secretary noted the many events that will take place overseas, in the rest of the UK and in Scotland, on or around St Andrew's Day.

Ms Hyslop commended the launch of Book Week Scotland, Scotland's first national celebration of reading, that will be held across the nation between 26 November and 2 December 2012.
