Standards business and decision time

MSPs voted 93 to 19 with one abstention in favour of a Scottish government motion calling for the devolution of air passenger duty and an immediate freeze on the duty during decision time on 20 November 2012.

Standards, Procedures and Public Appointments committee convener Dave Thompson called for the parliament to agree that the changes to Standing Orders be made with effect from 21 November 2012 and on the consultation on the Code of Practice for Ministerial Appointments to Public Bodies in Scotland, prior to decision time.

MSPs unanimously backed both Mr Thompson's motions at decision time.

Then the government will move a motion on Cosla membership for the Committee of the Regions.
