Question Time: Regional Development and Employment

Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy answered a number of questions on road schemes, on 19 November 2012.

These projects included the B59 Doagh Road in Newtownabbey, the Ballynahinch Bypass and the Donegall Road in Belfast.

The DUP's Pam Brown asked about the problem of persistent flooding in parts of South Antrim.

She wanted to know what action was being taken to address poor drainage causing flooding on the main roads in Templepatrick village.

The minister said he understood her concerns and would welcome further information on the problem.

Judith Cochrane of Alliance asked what was being done to address the problem of illegal parking in cycle lanes.

The minister said a fixed-penalty fine could not be issued to a vehicle parked in a non-mandatory cycle lane except where another parking restriction was in force.

Employment and Learning Minister Stephen Farry answered questions on support for people affected by job losses at FG Wilson engineering, post-primary area planning and engagement with European political institutions.
