Civil Service (Special Advisers) Bill

The Assembly assented to a request from the Finance Committee for an extension to their scrutiny of the Civil Service (Special Advisers) Bill, on 12 November 2012.

The private member's bill has been brought forward by the TUV's Jim Allister.

It aims to ban those convicted of an offence carrying a sentence of five years, or more, from holding the post of special adviser to a Stormont minister.
