NSMC Language Body

Culture Minister Caral Ni Chuilin reported back to the Assembly on a recent meeting of the North South Ministerial Council (NSMC) on language bodies, on 9 October 2012.

The meeting dealt with matters relating to the Boord o Ulster Scotch (the Ulster-Scots Agency) and Foras na Gaelige (the Irish Language Agency).

Ms ni Chuilin outlined a number of recent developments including the launch of a certificate for education in Highland Piping, and work on the major new English/Irish dictionary.

She said the hard copy of the dictionary would be available by 2015.
