Flooding in the Clogher Valley

The DUP's Lord Morrow told MLAs about a dramatic incident in which mourners at a funeral had to leave the church when it was flooded, on 22nd November 2011.

The incident happened at Carntall Presbyterian Church in Clogher, County Tyrone.

Lord Morrow used the anecdote to introduce his adjournment debate on recent flooding in the Clogher Valley.

A number of local MLAs contributed stories of the flooding of farms, homes and football clubs.

The agriculture and rural development minister, Michelle O'Neill, was unable to attend the assembly to reply to participate in the debate due to illness.
