The meeting also discussed ongoing work on water quality, including shell fish waters and bathing waters.
The DUP's Paul Givan also handed a public petition on the future of Knockmore Primary School in Lisburn.
Parents protested at the South Eastern Education and Library Board's headquarters at the beginning of November to express concern about a possible closure of the school which has a large special needs unit.
