On 10 January 2013, Foreign Office Minister Baroness Warsi repeated a statement on the situation in Syria.
The statement was made earlier in the Commons by Foreign Secretary William Hague.
The United Nations has said that 60,000 people have died in the conflict in Syria since the violence began in March 2011.
The UK has been hosting an international conference of Syria experts and opposition politicians to for a peaceful transition from the Assad regime.
Mr Hague said the removal of President Assad is "inevitable", and that it was vital to plan for what would happen in the aftermath.
