Introductions

Two new peers, Lord Singh of Wimbledon and Lord Curry of Kirkharle, were introduced into the House of Lords on 24 October 2011.

Dr Indarjit Singh, who will sit on the crossbenchers, is editor of the journal Sikh Messenger and a regular contributor to programmes on religion and philosophy such as BBC Radio 4's Thought for the Day.

Sir Donald Curry will also sit as a crossbencher. He chairs the NFU Mutual Insurance Society and is non-executive chairman of the Better Regulation Executive.

Lord Curry also founded and is chair of the north east-based charity At Home in the Community, which provides care for people with learning disabilities.
