Adjournment debate

Conservative MP for Warrington South David Mowat led an adjournment debate on the Atlantic gateway proposals on 27 November 2012.

The Atlantic gateway strategy is a plan to create jobs and boost growth in north-west England by opening up the Manchester Ship Canal.

Proposals include the creation of Port Warrington, near the Acton Grange viaduct in Mr Mowat's constituency.

The plans are part of a consultation by the Peel Ports Group on the Port of Liverpool and the Manchester Ship Canal.

Mr Mowat welcomes the proposals.
