Adjournment debate

On 7 November 2012, Conservative MP for Stratford-upon-Avon Nadhim Zahawi led an adjournment debate on planning and localism.

In September 2012 the government announced plans to relax planning rules in England.

The proposals would relax rules on providing social housing in new developments and extend schemes to help first-time buyers.

The government hopes the new planning rules will help boost the construction sector.
