Adjournment debate

On 6 November 2012, Labour MP for Bridgend Madeleine Moon led a debate on polycystic kidney disease (PKD).

PKD is an inherited condition resulting in a range of incurable disorders that can cause kidney failure and a reduced quality of life.

Some forms of the disease result in the formation of cysts in the kidneys and patients require dialysis and possibly a kidney transplant.

Other forms of the disease result in enlarged kidneys and other vital organs. This form of the disease is usually fatal to infants born with the condition.
