Home Affairs Committee

MPs continued their inquiry into security at the London Olympic Games, on 4 September 2012.

The inquiry was launched following the revelation in July that the private security firm G4S might not have been able to provide enough fully trained staff to cover the London games.

Thousands of troops were drafted in to cover the shortfall, although the games passed without any major security incident.

Evidence will be taken from the Deputy Assistant Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Sue Akers; Deputy Mayor of London Stephen Greenhalgh, and the former HM Inspector of Constabulary Sir Denis O'Connor.
