Debate on sport and crime

Conservative MP Damian Collins led a Westminster Hall debate on 6 December 2011 on the effect of sport in reducing youth crime.

The debate focused on a report by the Laureus Foundation and the think-tank New Philanthropy Capital.

It looked at the impact of three sporting projects in reducing the levels of youth crime.

It found that for every £1 invested in one of the projects, 'Kickz', led to £7 in savings.
