The Foreign Affairs Committee held an evidence session on 29 June 2011 as part of its inquiry into piracy off the coast of Somalia.
The committee is examining the UK's anti-piracy policy, including NATO and other operations in which the UK is involved, and also issues in Somalia which help to cause and sustain piracy there.
The committee heard from Captain David Reindorp, head of the Defence Crisis Management Centre and Dr Campbell McCafferty, who leads on counter-terrorism and UK operational policy at the Ministry of Defence.
MPs also took evidence from Sally Healy, Associate Fellow at Chatham House.
