Commons Commission motion

On 14 September 2010 MPs approved a motion relating to the membership of the House of Commons Commission.

The routine motion appointed Tory Sir Paul Beresford and Lib Dem John Thurso as members of the Commission replacing Lib Dem MP Nick Harvey who is now in government and Tory David Maclean, whose membership automatically ceased when he stood down at the 2010 general election.

Leader of the House Sir George Young praised the outgoing members for their work on the Commission and welcomed its new members.

His remarks were echoed by shadow Commons Leader Rosie Winterton.

The Commons Commission is the administration body of the House.
