Dangerous dog owners have 'no sense of responsibility'

On 20 July 2010, Angie Bray, MP for Ealing and Acton, led a debate on dangerous dogs which she says have become "an increasing problem" in her constituency.

The Conservative MP, who has been a dog owner for many years, said that MPs need to "think how we can best get rid of this threat" because police "do not have the resources" to deal with the problem.

Ms Bray accused people who train their dogs to be aggressive of having "no sense of responsibility for the communities that they live in".

Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Minister James Paice said that the coalition government "are very much aware of the issue", and he pointed out that the coalition agreement makes reference to tackling the problem.
