On 22 March 2010, Labour MP Anne Snelgrove led a debate on Swindon Borough Council's Wi-Fi project.

Ms Snelgrove argued that the Tory-held council was not delivering value for money for Swindon's residents.

The council has said the "Wi-Fi mesh" will give blanket internet coverage for around 186,000 residents.
