Short debate

In Welsh Assembly plenary sessions, a short debate is an opportunity for an Assembly Member to raise a subject of importance to them.

Short debates are similar to adjournment debates in Westminster.

The Presiding Officer holds a ballot and the successful AM then proposes a topic for the Assembly to debate before the end of plenary on a Wednesday.
