Delegations are groups of MEPs from all parties that provide links with non-EU Parliaments. They can also be referred to as assemblies.

Included amongst these are ad hoc joint parliamentary committees held with candidate countries, such as Croatia or Macedonia.

There are also more formal "Joint Parliamentary Assemblies" with the developing world, such as the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly that provides joint discussions between the EU and countries from Africa, the Caribbean and South Pacific.

With the promise of trips to sunny climes, this often proves a popular delegation for MEPs to join up to.
