Vice president of the European Parliament

Vice presidents chair plenary sessions in the European Parliament in the absence of the President, and take on various roles delegated to them by the President.

There are 14 vice presidents in the Parliament, elected at the same time and serving the same length terms as the President.

Positions are divided up amongst the political groupings. The UK has two vice presidents.
