Nationalism is a political belief in the unification of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

It rejects the argument, put forward by unionists, that Northern Ireland should continue to remain within the United Kingdom.

The main nationalist parties in the Northern Ireland Assembly are Sinn Fein and the Social Democratic and Labour Party.
