Lord President of the Council

The Lord President of the Council is a member of the cabinet.

The Lord President is in charge of the Privy Council Office and responsible for overseeing its work.

This job does not involve a heavy workload and the prime minister usually gives the post holder additional responsibilities.

In recent years the job of Lord President has been combined with that of Leader of the House of Lords.
