Privy Councillors

Privy Council members are called Privy Councillors.

Membership includes all members of the cabinet past and present, the Speaker, the leaders of all major political parties, Archbishops and various senior judges as well as other senior public figures.

During debates in the Commons, MPs refer to colleagues who are in the Privy Council as "The Right Honourable".

Privy Councillors are also more likely to be chosen to speak in debates by the Speaker, and are allowed to speak for longer.
