Reading clerk

The reading clerk sits in the House of Lords and assists the clerk of the Parliaments in the performance of his duties.

It is the reading clerk's job to announce the introduction of new peers and to administer the oath to them.

The reading clerk also records the attendances of peers in the House of Lords.
