Opening of the session

The November session of the European Parliament was formally opened by president Martin Schulz on 19 November 2012.

The opening of the session allows MEPs to approve or amend the agenda for the session, and for points of order or general announcements to be raised.

Highlights of the four-day session include a debate on the forthcoming special summit on the EU's long term budget, and a vote on approving the Health Commissioner-designate, Tonio Borg.

Due to technical reasons beyond our control we are unable to bring the video of this debate.
