  Millions voting for US president
Updated 02 November 2004, 14.31
Millions are voting for the US president
After months of campaigning millions of Americans are voting for the person they want to be the next president.

Current president George Bush has voted in in his home state of Texas, while his rival John Kerry will vote later.

The election has been one of the most closely fought US presidential elections in history and 110 million Americans are expected to vote.

Experts aren't sure who is going to win the election, with the result expected around 6am in the UK on Wednesday.

Normally candidates don't do any campaigning on the day of voting, but this year things are different.

President Bush is going to address supporters in the state of Ohio, where Mr Kerry ended his final full day of campaigning the night before.

He will stop in the state of Wisconsin to try and convince a few more voters to choose him before returning to his home state of Massachusetts to vote.

High turn out predicted

Millions of US citizens have already cast their votes in states that allow early voting.

Some experts think the number of people turning out to vote could be the highest for 40 years.
